  • Hi everyone

Its been some time since I posted anything on here, but i need assistance please with a canal boat I am constructing. As with locomotives and rolling stock you put the bogies or wheels into _vRadsatz and _hRadsatz and couple with _Geschwindigkeit to get it moving but with my canal boat nothing is physically seen below water so what do you put into _vRadsatz and _hRadsatz

I am hoping this might be a simple answer but I know it will lead to more questions on how to drive the canal boat and at no more that 4mph or 6.43kph:/

    Thanks in Advance

  • Welcome Back, Craig

You can leave it empty or put an empty Dummy Object on the axis, more important is the placing of both axis because that way you define the way the boat will behave in a curve. I prefer _vRadsatz close to the middle and _hRadsatz far in the back so the ship turns around the last quarter of the length.

  • Hello everyone,

I prefer _vRadsatz close to the middle and _hRadsatz far in the back so the ship turns around the last quarter of the length.

but if the propeller and rudder are at the stern of the ship (as usual), it should sheer out wide in curves with the stern. To do this, _vRadsatz and _hRadsatz should be quite far forward (towards the bow).

    Cheers
    Christopher
